EASTON, MA — Easton's Jackie Ireland will represent Merrimack College on her home campus at the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior Bowl on Saturday after being a stalwart defender for the Warriors the past two years. The game will be at Merrimack's Martone-Majail Field and will include many of the top senior players from throughout New England.
The Foxboro Charter School alumna started all 18 matches for Merrimack in its first season as a Division I program as a senior after appearing in all 17 years as a junior. She scored her only point of the season with an assist in an overtime game against Saint Francis on Oct. 25.
She played in 64 games overall in her four years at Merrimack after being a four-year letter-winner at Foxboro Charter. She was a team Most Valuable Player as a freshman, team Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore, a three-time league All-Star and two-time league MVP.
She also has a 3.8 grade-point average as a communications major at Merrimack.
The Warriors won three games in their first season as a varsity program this fall.
