Only in the summer do temperatures climb above 90°F. Howard Hughes purchased 25000 acres in southern Nevada and named it "Husite". After Hughes died in 1988, the area sat vacant for thirty years. Eventually, The Nature Conservancy was involved in a land exchange that saw the construction of Summerlin begin. Summerlin is a wealthy suburb of Las Vegas.
