Sewer Work Detour On Poquanticut Avenue In Easton

EASTON, MA — Traffice will be detoured on Poquanticut Avenue southbound north of South Street starting this week as crews continue work on the Five Corners Sewer Project. Poquanticut Avenue will be detoured onto Beaver Dam Road to the east, then south on Bay Road, and back to the Five Corners intersection. The C. Naughton Corp pipe crew is scheduled to complete gravity sewer services on Monday and then begin gravity sewer main installation. The city said all residents of Poquanticut Avenue south of Beaver Dam Road and north of South Street will have continuous access from the north. That includes residents of Roundtable Road, Excaliber Lane and Armor Lane. Emergency vehicles and school buses will have access to the roads, as necessary, and normal bus routes will be maintained. Residents of Poquanticut Avenue south of South Street will have continuous access from Foundry Street or South Street. The detour will remain in effect until the crew has completed this part of the work and has removed all equipment fro the intersection. Manhole structure and previously installed sewer mains will be conducted on Foundry School between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic in both directions will be run in alternating patterns around the work zone in the westbound lane of Foundry Street. Brief and intermittent delays should be expected in both directions on Foundry Street.
