Description
Hello and happy Spring, everyone! The San Francisco Bach Choir is performing Brahms on May 22nd. Volunteer ushers are needed to help check tickets, vaccination cards, and hand out programs. All volunteers get to hear the concerts for free, and can do so knowing they are helping the nicest audience, and best choir in the land! ==================== Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem, Op. 45 https://www.sfbach.org/brahms-ein-deutsches-requiem-op-45/ Sunday, May 22, 2022, 2:45pm usher call time for 4:00pm concert. at Calvary Presbyterian Church: 2515 Fillmore St at Jackson, San Francisco (there is also a concert in Berkeley on Saturday the 21st.) Brahms’ deeply personal masterpiece and its message of peace and transformation, still speaks to us after more than 150 years. Composed after the death of his mother this exquisite work is both intimate and universal. Through his exploration of sorrow and loss Brahms’ sublime music transports, comforts, and consoles. ==================== If you are interested in ticket-selling or distributing will-call tickets, let me know - I'll need to you be at the church 15 minutes earlier than the other ushers, but you won't have any intermission duties. How to sign up: send me an email. Dress Code: All black, or black with a white dress shirt. Gentlemen, unless it is very hot, please wear a tie. Some posts are in the lobby, so please bring a warm coat if the weather is chilly. Everyone - volunteers, staff, singers, and audience - must bring proof of full vaccination to attend. A 2nd boost (4th shot) will not be required. What SFBC ushers do: At SFBC concerts, posts include ticket seller, will call, ticket taker, and seater. Volunteers are also needed to help prepare the venue for the concert (stuff an occasional insert, move hymn books, that sort of thing). Most ushers will be able to hear the concerts in their entirety. I will ask one usher to help with late seating - usually whoever arrives last (there is _always_ at least one late usher).... After that, you can listen and be seated. At the intermission, you'll need to direct traffic to the restrooms and the like. After the show, your help will be needed to pick up programs and section signs from the house - this usually takes about 5 minutes. We'd be very pleased to see you there.
