Woodbridge Reporting Dozens Of New COVID Cases In Children

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Over last weekend, Dec. 12/13, Woodbridge reported 12 new coronavirus cases in children under the age of 10, and 21 new cases between 10- and 19-year-olds. And 48 new cases were people in their twenties. "This proves that COVID-19 is not just impacting elderly people like in the early months of March, April and May," said Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac. At this, time none of the children or teens that tested positive have been hospitalized. As of Thursday, Dec. 17, Woodbridge had 52 new COVID cases reported in the past 24 hours, making the town's new total 5,845 reported total cases and 160 deaths. This is according to Middlesex County's COVID case tracker, which is updated daily. Many of those COVID deaths happened in nursing homes and long-term care facilities located in Woodbridge Twp.
