Landscape Gardener for private, commercial, and public park properties in Reno, Nevada. Description: Interpretive Gardens, Inc. DBA River School Farm is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable landscape professional to care for landscape gardens. Our company is known for designing, building, and maintaining creative, climate appropriate, and productive gardens in the Truckee Meadows. This position focuses on caring for existing properties as well as creating updates with pollinator perennial and annual plantings, container gardens and small landscape updates. An ideal candidate would share our passion for beautiful gardens and have a solid knowledge of plants and proper horticultural practices. This part time or full time, seasonal position includes coordinating with construction manager for installations, scheduling multiple gardening clients. This part time or full time (February 1 to December 18) seasonal position offers opportunities for growth and paid education allowance, flexible hours, 40-hour work week, and paid Holidays. Responsibilities: - Comprehensive care for landscapes including fine gardening, weeding, pruning, soil amendments, and monitoring of plant health - Planting of pollinator perennials, annuals, and seasonal containers - Scheduling irrigation controllers - Spring and autumn clean-ups of plant beds - Communicating with clients while offering exceptional customer service - Time tracking hours for each client - Assisting with landscape construction projects Requirements: - Horticultural knowledge of plants, plant care, and soil health - A hard worker, ethical, efficient, self-motivated, detail-oriented, problem solver, friendly and professional, a positive team member - Ability to lift 50 pounds - A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a small tractor and pickup trucks with trailers We offer: - A stimulating work environment - Pay commensurate with experience - Paid education allowance - Paid holidays
