Woodbridge's COVID Cases Are Back To June Levels

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — After enjoying a July and August of relatively low case numbers, Woodbridge's coronavirus case numbers have been slowly and steadily creeping up this fall. Woodbridge finished the month of September with 166 new COVID cases, on par with the June caseload of 160, according to Mayor John McCormac. However, that is still down from the highest month of April (1,169 cases), followed by May (269 cases.) "The summer was much better with 116 in July and 105 in August," said McCormac. Woodbridge is following a state trend, as New Jersey's overall COVID numbers are also rising and right back to where we were in early June, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Friday, Oct. 2. Read: Gov. Only one new case is in someone over 60, said the mayor. There has also been one death in a state facility located in Woodbridge Twp., but no new deaths elsewhere in the Township.
