Description
This is a mixed breed dog: Shiba Inu mixed with an unidentified hound.
She is potty trained and she has been nice around my kids ages 10-14. She is an outside dog and a good runner. She seems healthy and her age is around 3 years old. She had puppies once (by accident) and she spent most of her life at a farm in southern Iowa. She has not been spayed.
I got her free-to-good home on Monday March 28, 2022. I was told that she had no known problems.
We were very happy with her but I noticed that she was interested in hunting moles, ground squirrels, cotton tail rabbits and then over the past three days she has killed at least FIVE chickens. She had to spend the night in the garage and we were around her today when she was allowed to leave the dog kennel. But she did not stick around and she took the first chance that she had to attack some more chickens (my neighbor's chicken!). I cannot have a dog like her killing for sport.
:(
I am wondering if anybody living in the country would be interested in her. She knows her name Luna and she generally minds me when I call her, except when she is fixed on hunting something. I am sad because I like her but I am terribly embarrassed about my neighbor's dead chickens. And it would not be good for Luna to spend the rest of her life tied or inside the 10'*10' kennel.
I am willing to drive up to 50 miles to deliver her to a new home or meet you half-way.
Thank you for considering giving Luna a chance to find a new home!
