JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – UTILITY MAINTENANCE WORKER The City of Philomath is accepting applications for a Utility Maintenance Worker to join the City’s Public Works Department. This is a full-time, AFSCME union position with excellent benefits including PERS/OPSRP (City pays employee portion), medical, life and AD&D insurance, paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave. The person in this position serves the community by performing a variety of maintenance work and operates various equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of municipal water, wastewater, street, storm water drainage, park, and municipal facilities and systems. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have excellent internal and external customer service skills, have knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in maintenance, construction, and repair activities. The successful candidate must have a valid Oregon state driver’s license at time of hire, and a Class A CDL or ability to obtain one within the probationary period. The salary range for the position is $4,017 - $4,796 per month. New employees are normally started at the first step of pay grade for their classification. Employees may start above the first step based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education.
