MILFORD, CT — Here is some very good news for Milford taxpayers. Earlier this summer officials were forecasting that the coronavirus pandemic could cost taxpayers an additional $11 million due to the need to add significantly more staff and ensure rigorous cleaning and safety measures.
But that worst-case scenario has improved greatly, reports the New Haven Register. COVID-19 related school costs are now forecast to cost an additional $3.7 million now, which represents a more than $7 million reduction.
And in even more good news, Milford's cost is an extra $1.3 million as state and federal funds will pay $2.4 million, the New Haven Register reports.
