Woodbridge Gets $549K For Homestead Ave. Repaving

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This week, Woodbridge was one of hundreds of towns across the state to receive municipal aid grants for local road repairs from the state Department of Transportation. Woodbridge was notified on Tuesday, Dec. 3 that the town had received a $549,912 grant from the DOT's municipal aid program, said town spokesman John Hagerty. The money will be used for the milling and paving of Homestead Avenue. Homestead Avenue is a major thoroughfare in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. It serves the industrial and manufacturing businesses as a connection to the New Jersey Turnpike and other major highways. The design phase will start in Spring 2020 and work is not expected to begin until Summer 2021, said Hagerty.
