ANSONIA, CT — A Milford teen, Kyle Barone, 18, is facing a first-degree larceny charge and is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond, Ansonia police said.
At 6:50 a.m. on Monday, the Ansonia Police Department received a suspicious activity complaint on Walkers Court, police said. A resident reported a man parked a truck in their driveway then walked away leaving the truck in the driveway, police said.
Police said they found the man a short distance away. The man said he parked the truck there, turned over a key to the truck and stated he had borrowed it from a friend, police said. The owner of the truck told police he didn't know the vehicle was missing, police said.
The truck's owner said he did not let anyone borrow the truck but did confirm there was a spare key left in the truck, police said. Barone is charged with first-degree larceny and held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
Barone also had an active arrest warrant for an incident in August 2020 where he is accused of breaking into a car in Ansonia, police said. He is charged with third-degree burglary for that incident and held in lieu of a $10,000 bond, police said.
