Press release from Connoisseur Media: December 2, 2020 MILFORD, CT – December 2, 2020 – Connecticut's most popular morning team, Chaz and AJ (WPLR & WFOX), are spending all next week raising cash and toys through their generous audience for local charities in need this holiday season. Due to the COVID guidelines, the "Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive" can't conduct their normal big event at Jordan's Furniture New Haven this year. As an alternative, and to not let their charity partners down, the show is spending THE WHOLE WEEK raising cash and toys on the air and on site at Jordan's. From 5:30am – 10am Monday through Friday, on 99.1 PLR and 95.9 the FOX, the show will feature musical guests, local celebrities, political dignitaries and the usual Chaz and AJ shenanigans to help drive donations to www.chazandaj.com. Then, each day from 10am – 4pm, radio station representatives will be at Jordan's Furniture New Haven collecting toys & cash. "Many families are going through an incredibly difficult year. With COVID and the economy, we are extremely worried that kids won't have presents under the tree," Chaz said, "With this toy drive, we are doing our small part to try and make things better for those in need". The toys and cash will be immediately distributed to (5) local charities: the McGivney Community Center Bridgeport, Boys and Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, Center for Family Justice, Team Inc. and Central CT Coast YMCA.
