For mothers and families who have lost a child/children to violence. This special brinch event features full course meal, drinks, signature desserts, live entertainment, gifts for every mother and so much more. Our goal is to wrap mothers who have lost a child to violence in love on one of the hardest days of the year. All mothers welcome. This event was created by Lanita Brooks to turn our family’s unspeakable pain into purpose after losing her son - our nephew, and brother, Deshon “Poppy” Sellers, who was shot and killed at age 17 in Wilmington, DE. That was in February of 2015. Since then, the need to address the trauma of gun violence in our community has grown to historic proportions, an epidemic right here in Wilmington as defined by the National Center for Disease Control. Families all across the region need us now more than ever.
