Need some help deciphering between silver, gold, jovan, añejo, and mezcal tequilas and when to use them? Then this class is for you! In this fun and informative workshop, you’ll taste a variety of tequilas, learn how each is made, and how to pair tequilas with different food flavors—in this case, tacos from La Perla Poblanita. The 90-minute workshop takes place at the Hudson Valley Writers Center in Sleepy Hollow and includes: Welcome tequila cocktailA flight of 4 tequila styles (Blanco, Añejo, Reposado, Mezcal) and corresponding tacosDiscussion of tequila production and aging methods, and how to “read” the unique characteristics of each styleStep-by-step demo on making the perfect margarita depending on the tequila you use (plus a chance to try your hand at one!)Whether you’re looking to refine your understanding of tequila, want to get better at making tequila cocktails, or just want to have a fun night out, come join us! About the Instructor: Jairo Triguero is most well-known as the manager at Grape Expectations in Tarrytown where he helps clients find the perfect wine or spirit to accompany their meals. Trained at the PA Culinary Institute in the Le Cordon Bleu program, Jairo discovered the wonders of tequila and fell in love with its many distinct drinking styles. He is passionate about making tequila (and all spirits!) accessible to the public, which he does through his new business Spirit House Rules.
