Teacher, Student Test Positive For COVID-19 At Middletown High

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown High School will be switching to distance learning for two weeks after a teacher and student tested positive for the coronavirus, officials announced on Sunday night. Superintendent of Schools Michael Conner said that based on the analysis of contact tracing, and in collaboration with the city health department, Middletown High School will operate remotely from Nov. 2 through Nov. 16. All students should follow their regular schedules via the district's distance learning platform, according to Conner. "The health and safety of our students, teachers, administrators, and families is our highest priority," Conner wrote in a message to the school community. "Please take advantage of the weekly testing available at our schools to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus." The PCR Mobile Testing Lab will be at Snow School on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Conner. "Please remember to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands," Conner said. "Thank you for your partnership – together we will keep Middletown safe and healthy."
