MIDDLETOWN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Middletown starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16, Mayor Ben Florsheim announced Wednesday.
"Please remove your vehicle from city streets to ensure our Public Works crews and other first responders can do what they need to do," Florsheim wrote in a post on Facebook.
Free parking is available in the following city lots for the length of the parking ban:
-Melilli Plaza lot (250 spaces)
-Broad Street/Kidcity Lot (100 spaces)
-Broad Street/Russell Library lot (30 spaces)
-Kings Avenue lot (20 spaces)
-Dingwall Drive/deKoven Drive lot (90 spaces)
Also, the Middletown Sanitation District will not be collecting trash and recycling on Thursday, Dec. 17. Both trash and recycling will be picked up for Thursday and Friday customers on Friday, Dec. 18, according to officials. These customers should put their carts at the curb Thursday evening for early Friday pickup, officials said.
