2 Killed In Fire; Middletown Police Seek Video, Photos From Scene

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police are asking witnesses for any videos or photos from a recent fire on Saybrook Road that killed two people. Emergency crews responded to the report of a structure fire at 1622 Saybrook Road at about 6:20 a.m. on May 29. Four people were hospitalized in the two-alarm fire, which reportedly involved some sort of explosion. "Two of the four people injured in the fire were the residents of 1622 Saybrook Road and were severely injured," Lt. Heather Desmond said in a news release. "Sadly, both residents succumbed to their injuries. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims." Middletown police are looking for videos or photos that bystanders may have recorded of the fire at 6:15 a.m. or later on May 29, according to Desmond.
