The Commonwealth Aging Council bestowed NV Rides with first place for the Virginia Governor’s Council on Aging Best Practices in Aging Award. This is a prestigious statewide award to honor model programs for seniors aging in place. Herndon Village Network is proud to be part of the NV Rides partner network.  Herndon Village Network provides senior members with free, unlimited access to day and evening transportation on weekdays and weekends. This more organized concept of neighbors helping neighbors encourages older residents to age in the Herndon community and allows them to maintain established routines and connections, which results in a higher quality of life. Since its beginning in 2015, HVN and its wonderful volunteer drivers have provided over 3,500 rides to doctor appointments, grocery stores, social engagements, and more!
