Press release from the Belmont Public Library: April 14, 2022 Help us beautify Belmont with sunflowers in the Elvira Repetti and the Belmont Public Library Sunflower Challenge! This idea was piloted in 2020 and while it was well received we got off to a late start. So now we'd like to officially launch the 1st annual Belmont Public Library Sunflower Challenge inspired by legendary local gardener Elvira Repetti. For over 65 years Elvira planted sunflower seeds locally each spring – and you can do the same! To get started today, simply:– Ask for a free packet of sunflower seeds at any public service desk (Children's, Circulation, or Reference) – Plant them and share a picture with the library when they grow!
