Here are the top 3 stories in Buffalo today: A historic ship in Buffalo dating back to the 1940s began to sink on the waterfront in Buffalo Thursday afternoon. The historic museum-owned ship, the USS Sullivans, dates back to World War II and sits in the water at Military Park pier. According to Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, there was a breach in the hull of the boat that caused it to start taking on water. According to WGRZ of Buffalo, the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military reported last year that the USS Sullivans was in danger of sinking. (NBC News)By the year 2035, Buffalo's school transport system may look a bit different. As part of the new state budget, electric buses will be mandated throughout New York to cut down on CO2 emissions and fight against climate change. However, there are concerns from Buffalo-area residents about the cost of electric buses (potentially two to three times more than the average bus) in addition to ensuring the buses have enough battery for students to travel to away games or events.
