Update: Police said on Twitter around 4:30 p.m. that Hecker Ave has reopened. DARIEN, CT — Police said they are at the scene of an active structure fire Thursday afternoon at a home on Hecker Avenue. Police announced the fire around 1:30 p.m. on Twitter. Hecker Avenue is currently closed, according to police. Around 3 p.m., police said on Twitter that Hecker Avenue at Fitch Avenue remains closed due to fire department activity, however the Interstate 95 northbound entrance ramp on Hecker Avenue had reopened and could be accessed via Noroton Avenue.
