Looking for older small breed dog

I am looking for an older small breed dog, spayed/neutered preferred but if not I can have it done. I have 3 younger kids age 4, 8 and 10 and we recently lost our shorkie to a horrible accident that we witnessed and our hearts are broken without him. We have 2 large breed dogs, but you can’t snuggle in bed and on the couch with huge dogs. We aren’t looking to replace him, just looking to give lots of love to another little guy that needs us as much as we need him. So we’re looking for mix breed preferably several years old or older (NO PUPPIES) must be good with kids and other dogs and housebroken at least to potty pads. I wanna stay in the 20lb and under range- shih tzu/yorkie/maltese/dachshund/poodle mixes. (Small enough to sit on your lap) I’m willing to work with him/her on the basics, but I’d like to know up front what he/she needs work on please. I’m not looking to buy a dog, however a small rehoming fee is fine. I know there is someone out there with the perfect lapdog for us, so let me know.
