POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Thirty-thousand participants will cross the starting line on Monday at the 2022 Boston Marathon. One of those competing in the 126th running of the race is from Point Pleasant Beach. For the first time since 2019, the Boston Marathon will take place on Patriots' Day — a Massachusetts holiday commemorating the opening battles of the American Revolutionary War. The day begins with military marchers at 6 a.m., with several waves of athletes beginning the race in Hopkinton throughout the morning.
