MERIDEN, CT — A Maloney High School student who tested positive for the coronavirus had attended a rally at the State Capitol last week, as first reported by GameTimeCT.com. The rally attracted nearly 1,000 student-athletes who want the high school football season to begin this fall. Officials told WFSB 3 TV that the student had no symptoms but the state Department of Public Health wants everyone who was in contact with the student to quarantine for 14 days. The high school football season is currently on hold in Connecticut due to concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. There is possible talk of a season occurring sometime in 2021 but nothing has been agreed to. GameTimeCT's editor Sean Patrick Bowley reports that contact tracing efforts have commenced and "a couple dozen close contacts" were identified. School officials stressed that if any student has symptoms that they should remain home. >>>Read More at GameTimeCT.com.
