The 75th Anniversary season of Town & Country Players kicks off on Friday, April 22nd with Guys and Dolls running weekends through May 7th. Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is a crowd-pleasing musical comedy with music by Frank Loesser and book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling. Guys and Dolls tells the story of gamblers Nathan Detroit, played by Michael Schiumo, and Sky Masterson, played by Jim Morris. Nathan Detroit tries to find cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide played by Kallie Cooper, laments that they've been engaged for 14 years. Nathan turns to Sky Masterson for the dough and Sky ends up chasing straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown, played by Tricia Curley. The show features perennial favorite songs "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat," "Luck Be a Lady Tonight," and "I've Never Been in Love Before." Guys and Dolls is playing at Town and Country Players located on Route 263 in Buckingham and runs weekends from April 22nd – May 7th. Curtain time is 8pm for Friday and Saturday evening shows and 2pm for Saturday and Sunday Matinees.
