Description

MERIDEN, CT — Christina Goodman, the head baker and co-owner of Goodman Delights, in Meriden is working toward claiming the title of "Greatest Baker 2020." The competition is the world's largest online competition of bakers. The winner will be awarded $10,000, recognition, a year's supply of Stuffed Puffs marshmallows, and will be featured in Scratch Magazine. Goodman, a self-taught baker who began baking with her grandmas, would like to win the competition, so her business can spread love, joy, and happiness to more people around the United States. She co-owns Goodman Delights with her sister Jenny. Goodman Delights opened in 2017. The sisters were inspired to open a bakery after they baked desserts for their uncle's wedding. All of the guests at the wedding raved about the incredible baked goods they were enjoying, and thus Goodman Delights was born, according to a statement. Since then, Christina and Jenny Goodman have provided the people of Connecticut with cupcakes, cookies, muffins, and their signature item, cupcake bouquets. Jenny Goodman, the head decorator, creates every cupcake to make them look like realistic flowers. To vote for Christina Goodman, please visit greatestbaker.com and search "Christina Goodman." "Hero Votes," which directly support the organization No Kid Hungry, can also be purchased at the time of voting. The competition ends Dec. 10.
