The statement acknowledges the community's grief after the shooting of Patrick Lyoya and shares the city's commitment to ensuring safety during the upcoming protests. There is a demonstration planned at Rosa Parks Circle today at 5:00 p.m. (WZZM13.com)The Grand Rapids Planning Commission has approved the transformation of a Burton Heights bakery space into a recreational marijuana retailer. The decision was issued after nearly 90 minutes of public comments and presentations. The cannabis retailer will be named Levels and is owned by Luxe I. (WOODTV.com)Two law professors have issued statements regarding the shooting of Patrick Lyoya. The statements claim that the unidentified officer did not need to shoot Lyoya based on what was seen during the released police footage. The two professors are David A. Harris and Jeffrey A. Fagan.
