Oakie Falls In Mascot Madness Finals

Press release from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry: April 15, 2022 Oakie Acorn, the mascot for the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), fell to SUNY Stony Brook's Wolfie in the championship round of SUNY Mascot Madness. Oakie walked away with 42.255 percent of the 13,000 votes cast in the final round. SUNY reports 100,000-plus votes were cast in earlier rounds of the competition. Oakie defeated mascots from Onondaga Community College, SUNY Canton, Binghamton University, and SUNY Geneseo to enter the final round. This was the second time Oakie made it to the finals. In 2017, Oakie won the title by defeating SUNY Geneseo's Victor E. Knight. SUNY's Mascot Madness is the annual competition that brings SUNY mascots together in a competition to find out who the fans feel is the best in all of New York.
