MERIDEN, CT — An 18-year-old Meriden resident was killed in an early morning motor vehicle accident, police said. At 4:02 a.m. Meriden police received multiple calls of a rollover motor vehicle accident, with a possible ejection. Police and fire crews responded to Research Parkway just south of Murdock Avenue and found two vehicles with heavy damage, police said. The first vehicle, 2003 Honda Accord had rolled over and had come to rest on the northbound lane, police said. The second vehicle a 2007 Toyota Scion had come to rest off the road to the right of the southbound lane, police said. Police found a man who had been partially ejected from the Honda Accord and proceeded to render medical care. The driver of the Toyota was found in the vehicle and was also rendered medical care, police said. The operator of the Toyota was transported to Midstate Medical with serious injuries. Despite efforts from all emergency personnel, the operator of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead on scene, police said. The man's name has not yet been released but police said he is an 18-year-old Meriden resident. "Our deepest sympathies go out to the family during this difficult time," police said.
