Albany Management is seeking a Landscaping Maintenance Manager to oversee year-round operations at our Commercial buildings and Residential communities. Requirements • Have working knowledge of horticultural work including plant identification, pest and disease identification, cultural requirements for plant materials, and thorough familiarity with all grounds maintenance operations, tools and equipment. • Have Five (5) years of broad experience in grounds maintenance and gardening, with a minimum of one year supervision of a grounds maintenance work force. • Have working knowledge of standard safety practices and methods related to the grounds keeping trade. • Have the ability to cost effectively ensure high quality of grounds keeping service. • Have working knowledge of computers and related software. • Must possess clean Driver's License to drive a truck or other light vehicle in the course of duties. • Pesticide Application Certification a plus. Responsibilities • Plan, prioritize and schedule all grounds work and snow removal for the office site and residential sites. • Maintain adequate levels and condition of supplies and horticultural tools and equipment. • Manage employee training and evaluation, interviewing and selection, employee relations and corrective action. • Participate directly in the work when required and appropriate. • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, subordinates, supervisors, administrators, customers, visitors and outside agencies. • Negotiate scope/contracts for supplies and contractors. • Monitor and supervise contractors as needed.
