MERIDEN, CT — A historic Meriden home that was being rehabbed was destroyed in a two-alarm fire Monday, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. The home had been purchased in July by an East Hartford man for $30,000 and was undergoing extensive restoration.
A call came in to emergency services at 5:45 a.m. for a fully involved house fire at 577 E. Main St., according to fire officials.
It took firefighters from around the area 50 minutes to get the blaze under control.
