My brother doesn’t care for his tegu anymore so I convinced him to rehome it. male blue black & white tegu, approximately 2.5 years old … This is a large, semi-aggressive lizard with insanely quick speed and lots of teeth. You MUST know what you’re doing with this species. He is not super tame yet but he is obviously super intelligent and he catches onto routine fairly quickly. I have no doubt that, with constant training and lots of working with him, he’d settle down into a good tegu pet. He’s currently going through a phase of taste-testing or test-biting pretty much everything, and he also has gotten into the habit of charging his enclosure door. A good work around is to place his food in enclosure before he even wakes up. Rehoming fee is $50. NO ENCLOSURE included, as he has definitely outgrown his and he has torn it up quite a bit. FYI - Tegus need at least an 8ftx4ft4ft enclosure OR an entire room to free-roam in. Make sure you can provide this the moment you bring him home. No aquarium or small enclosure will fit this guy. He has been in a 6ftx2ftx2ft but needs bigger!!
