Job Title: Field Maintenance (Seasonal) Department: Facilities Reports to: Facilities Manager Works Actively with: Field Crew/Equipment/Operations Status: Full time (up to 44hrs/week) Job Purpose: To maintain playing sites that are safe, clean and visually appealing for all KIDSPORTS participants and families. Job Details: Full time position starting between April 2022 (weather permitting). Season will end the week of July 4th, 2022 Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm and some Saturday mornings from 6am-10am when needed. Compensation is $13.00/hr. Duties and Responsibilities: o Prepare fields for youth sports games, to specific sizes, specs, and requirements. o Maintain best safety practices for handling, lifting, moving and storage of all equipment and materials. o Ensure that your vehicle or truck is stocked with the necessary field equipment for the assignments of the day. o Drive safely and courteously at all times. o Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times – particularly when interacting with school, city staff, and neighborhood residents. o When directed, communicate with school staff before performing maintenance on school grounds. o Flag all sprinkler heads and valves before working on any field. o Ability to utilize best judgment in respecting neighbors and property surrounding field sites. o Clean up litter & debris on field sites. o Empty trashcans & replace trash bags at field sites. o Inspect portable restrooms at sites, and report any visible damage and/or cleanliness status. o Communicate as necessary to relay unsafe field conditions, holes, excess water, property damage, etc. o Clean vehicles as directed. o Store and lock all equipment at the end of each shift. o Lock up facility compound area. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Previous field maintenance experience preferred; ability to drive a stick shift vehicle a plus; ability and understanding of how to utilize field equipment in a safe and practical manner necessary; basic mathematic skills helpful. Must be able to work without direct supervision. Qualifications: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. All applicants must pass drug screen and criminal background check before hire. Able to lift or move safely up to one hundred pounds. Must be able available during scheduled shifts, including Saturdays. Working Conditions: Work performed in outdoor settings, sometimes in inclement weather. Heavy to moderate lifting involved on a daily basis, up to 100 pounds. Must be able to adapt to and prioritize multiple work assignment changes during any given shift.
