Originals Primarily Rock Band

Description
Putting together a mostly original act. My search may be slow and tedious, but at least full disclosure. Because of my contacts, the original material will be 90% mine. Yes, I'm offering the George Harrison deal. 1 in 10 songs can be yours. And the ratio will be half covers, half originals. Not a popular ratio in a band. I get that. The covers will be crowd minded, bar drinking, pop rock, alternative, commercial music that the club owners want - so as to get gigs. But the split will be 50-50. I know most original bands don't do this. I know most cover acts do not do this. Weekly practices only. We will learn one cover per original that is mastered. 1:1 ratio. If it makes you feel any better, many great original acts in history started out with this ratio, The Killers and The Beatles to name a couple. As the band gains notoriety, and people come just to hear us regardless of what we play, there will be more and more originals played, and covers will be bumped. But, that won't happen until the finances of all this justify that shift. I have accumulated about 30 really good originals, and I have a couple promoters interested in what I have written. My songs are mostly award-winning. And every single one of them has been crowd tested. And musician tested lol. And how else do I justify playing all of my originals? I will be sinking my money into this project. Everywhere. Pay to play gigs, like 930, marketing which is costly but necessary to get exposure. All the YouTube channels in the world aren't gonna sell shite if they don't know that you are there. And studio time. Entirely on me. After all, they are my songs. Another likely downside. Most originals gigs do not pay well. Just saying. In case you didn't know? The black T-shirt scene is not rewarding. But it's fun! It's super fun. You meet crazy cool people, artists, the audience is filled with them. Please note that you can have your way with leads etc. - long as it sticks to the original vision I have for the song. Your 1 in 10 originals will be respected similarly. If you have a vision, we will stick to it, drum fills, transitions, leads, vocals. It will be your plan if you wrote it. And it doesn't have to match my sound. I am not into this all-must-sound-like-one-thing in a band. I know many need this. But many bands don't. I would LOVE departures from my sound. My sound is 80s - 90s, alternative progressive, light and heavy. Think REM, Gin Blossoms + Alice In Chains, RHCP. I will need actual email addresses to share my content. Would love to hear yours. Yes I have a few links, but I've not posted most of my stuff. My recordings are decent, but I will need to re-record all of my originals. Again, on me. Note, no mention of age. It's not only illegal to do this publicly on craigslist, boys and girls, it's stupid. Rock 'n' roll has become a dignity genre. Like country or jazz, nobody gives a rats ass if you're morbidly obese and 95 in a wheel chair. Long as they can wheel you out to the middle of the stage to play your guitar, you will get gigs. No smokers though. Thanks! Dave
