JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Assist Activities as requested in all facets of the daily routine of the department. Design and implement activities for large and small groups as needed in accordance to needs and desires of the residents and the community. Must be able to run a program from beginning to end which might include attendance, tending to the safety of the resident, evaluation of program, clean up and inventory of supplies and equipment. Activities Assistant must be able to drive all Rockridge vehicles, with knowledge of safety procedures. Must also have a valid MA drivers license. QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience working in the field of recreational programming within a senior setting such as Assisted Living, Residential Care or Long Term Care. Should be enthusiastic and have strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire residents. Must have experience working with folks in memory care. The work requires the incumbent to be on his/her feet during the majority of the shift. Must be able to balance, climb stairs, crouch, grasp, pull, push, reach, stand, and perform repetitive movement. An individual in this position will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions and possible blood borne pathogens. Must also be able to feel, hear, see, smell, speak, taste and lift up to 35 pounds.
