Your Arlington Last Updated: 23 December 2020 Written by town website UPDATED, Dec. 21: To continue the racial-equity work in Arlington, Powerful Pathways is offering racial-justice teach-ins, a five-session workshop series, held virtually beginning in January. The deadline had been Dec. 21, but it has been extended to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23. Participants will learn methods in which they can support racial justice in their own lives and work. Through a facilitated peer learning, participants will aim to develop best practices for positive collection action to support racial justice on an ongoing basis in Arlington. The expectation is that community members who sign up to participate in the sessions are expected to make a commitment to attend all five. There will be homework assignments - short readings and/or videos – to be completed in between sessions. This pilot program has an up to 60-person capacity. In an effort to diversify the cohort, a preregistration form will be used, and community members will be notified of their participation. If successful, the pilot will continue. The pilot program dates will be every three weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. They are: Jan. 5 Jan. 26 Feb. 16 March 9 March 30 Register here by Dec. 23 Registrants will be alerted by Dec. 30.
