With a completely demolished economy under Trump, the price of oil fell to UNDER $0 per barrel. Oil companies were forced to pay people to take oil that was being pumped at times. So they shut down production. Then they laid off workers. Many oil workers lost their houses due to Trump's complete incompetence in handling a flu bug. Now that the economy is soaring again under Biden, oil companies are ramping up production again buy many Big Oil companies are taking their sweet time so they can price gouge and make up some of what they lost under the Orange Idiot's collapse of the economy.
