I hold a Va Permit which allows me to care for up to 4 children. My home daycare is located in the Westhaven neighborhood, off Old Keene Mill Rd (route 644). My home is very accessible to commuters since I’m a only few minutes’ drive away from Franconia Springfield Pkwy (289), and the I-95, I-395, and I-495 (I'm near the Springfield Town Center and Trader Joe's at Springfield Plaza.) I have been running my home-based daycare for 20 years now. Like you, I’m also a parent, a mom to 5 children (now adults!), so I have first-hand child care experience with my own kids. I can also relate to you and understand your child care needs and concerns. My daycare is a small program, and I only take a maximum of 4 children. Therefore, I can provide plenty of individualized attention to all kids under my care. I’m also CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your little one is safe with me at all times. In addition to English, I speak Arabic, Tigrinya, and Amharic, and upon request, I can teach your child these foreign languages (however, my daycare is not a bilingual or full immersion program). Open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 1 month, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I can also accommodate drop-in care for your occasional child care needs. For older kids up to 13 years old, I can provide before and after school care (my home is near Garfield Elementary School, just a 3 minutes’ drive away). To prevent any possible allergies, I maintain a peanut and tree-nut free environment.
