Back Country Horsemen of the Flathead are holding a Defensive Horse Safety Class. Members and potential members who plan to volunteer on trail projects this summer are required, by the Forest Service, to attend this training. The training is meant to furnish an introduction to people new to the use of stock on trail projects as well as provide reminders for seasoned members. The training is valid for three years.
The session will be held April 23rd from 10-3 p.m. in the North Star Arena at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell. It will be held outdoors so dress in layers to accommodate the changing weather conditions. Pack a lunch and beverages for a break at noon. There are bleachers on site.
This free program is open to the public and memberships will be available for those wanting to join the Back Country Horsemen of the Flathead. Follow the signs once entering the fairgrounds to the meeting site.
