WESTFIELD, NJ — Mayor Shelley Brindle said Tuesday night that she and Chief Christopher Battiloro will hold a Facebook Live discussion on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., addressing topics including: Recent police activity in townHalloween guidanceSome of the department's current initiativesAnd more. Questions can be submitted in advance online, or during the program via the Facebook Live comments. You can see the session by clicking this link. UPDATE: Due to problems with Facebook Live, the session stated around 10 a.m. and is running on Zoom here. Last week, the mayor and chief sent out a release talking about "dozens of teens — estimated to be up to 100 at times" gathering at Mindowaskin Park after sundown, causing vandalism and other problems.
