WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield police said Tuesday that on Nov. 20, an employee of a local business was threatened with a machete as part of a parking dispute. According to police, around 7:55 p.m., an employee from a business on the 200 block of West South Avenue said he "was engaged in a parking dispute with an unknown suspect, who then retrieved a 12-14 inch machete from the front seat of his gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck." The suspect allegedly pointed the machete at the victim before placing it back on his front seat, police said. He left the area in his vehicle. The truck had New York plates, but the victim didn't get any more information, police said. Police said they presently have no suspects. Got news? Email [email protected].
