Blawesome is searching for a full-time social care farmer to work alongside a young man with autism, approximately 35-40 hours/week, at our farm in western Chapel Hill. The position requires an individual who has farming knowledge and experience, management experience, teaching skills, and a lot of self-motivation. It also involves being able to work with a seasonal crew and offer daily direction and support to ensure that our operation is run in a consistent and collaborative manner. It is a very different form of both farming and direct support, and offers a lot of opportunity to work creatively and compassionately, while cultivating seasonal flowers and a deeper, more connected sense of community and belonging.
