Starts July 12th (Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) Starts July 12th (Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) Have you ever wanted to paint outside but you couldn't figure out how to start? This class is designed to make your outdoor painting experience as simple as possible. Over the course of 6 weeks we will investigate the necessary tools and materials to make the process easy. Class will be taught in the open-air Bickford Pavilion near the studio. You can work in oil or acrylic. Oil is recommended since acrylic paint dries very quickly outside. We will concentrate on painting Still Life Flower Setups as well as Downtown Yarmouth. We will address approaches to Plein Air painting that will help you create your own strategy to Plein Air. Topics we will address are composition, colors to work with and how to mix them, creating value studies and how these quick works inform our final pieces, care and clean up of materials and artwork. Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. Fee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies can be emailed upon request. NOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students, including wearing masks while inside the studio to use the restroom.
