MANCHESTER, CT — Municipal officials are asking those participating in the 2020 virtual edition of the Manchester Road Race not to run in large groups on Thanksgiving Day or during the week leading up the the holiday.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the race was changed to an online, virtual event. Runners will be completing the "race" on their own with a special application.
The traditional, 4.748-mile race route will not be closed to traffic at any time during Thanksgiving
week or on Thanksgiving Day nor will the usual public safety precautions be in place, town officials said.
"Please choose another safe running route," town officials said.
