Accessible Tour of Walnut Hills Cemetery
Join Jewish Cemeteries on an accessible tour of our Walnut Hills Cemetery to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jewish Cincinnati. We’ll focus on the history of the cemetery and the congregations associated with it, spotlight notable interments, and tell interesting life stories in a COVID-safe, outdoor environment. This tour will be limited to paved areas of the cemetery to provide ease of access.
Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati oversees 25 Jewish cemeteries with 35,000 graves. We serve as a national model because of our role as one of the nation’s first organizations to manage nearly all the Jewish cemeteries in one community. All major Jewish denominations are represented and respected. Our oldest cemetery, founded in 1821, was the first Jewish site west of the Allegheny Mountains. As the final resting places for many of our community’s ancestors, our cemeteries help to preserve and honor our community’s history.
