Established in 2015, ECBL is an independent basketball minor league with teams operating in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. Established in 2015 as the Petersburg Revolution, the team began play in the East Coach Basketball League in the 2016 season. A change in ownership for season two also saw the team become the Petersburg Cavaliers. The Cavaliers play it's home games in The Gym at Petersburg High School.
