Join TRIO, Louisiana's leader in college readiness, graduates and workforce development to be honored at the Metrocouncil. TRIO Louisiana announces its 50th Anniversary Celebrating decades of service locally to students and families throughout the State. The organizations boast programs at nearly every major university including Louisiana State University, Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College. The organization's eight programs serve: disadvantaged High School students, College Students, STEM speciality interests, and Veterans. TRIO acts as a critical component to improve Louisiana's workforce through educational opportunities. About the TRIO:The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
