A 1 day Summit, designed to educate consumers on hair loss: treatment options, product knowledge, related health issues and much more! Demetria Hayden, founder and CEO of Altogether Lovely, Inc., a hair management company and Healthful Hair Solutions®, a hair care product line, announced her sponsorship and participation in the first annual Hair Talk Summit on April 30 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. “Hair loss often causes concern, especially in women, because of its cosmetic and psychological affect. But, it can also be an important sign of systemic disease. Hair loss can be the first visible sign of an underlying health issue, so awareness just may save a life,” said Hayden, who is also a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor under the State of Illinois and a Certified Hair Loss Practitioner. She went on to say, “The mission behind Hair Talk Summit, is to educate both hair care professionals and consumers on the importance of early detection and proper diagnosis of hair loss. ” The 2022 Hair Talk Summit is themed, “UP Close & Personal” and is a one-day event at Edifice on State, 8525 South State Street in Chicago. Porter, a hair scientist and owner of Mane Insights, Inc., and one of the summit’s speakers says, “Many women are confused because there is a lot of misinformation on social media platforms about products, ingredients, and the roles of different hair practitioners. This summit will empower women with knowledge so they can make informed decisions about optimizing their hair and scalp health.” Other featured keynote speakers include: Marvelette Bailey, Cosmetologist, instructor, and CEO of MB3 Enterprise, LLC and TrichoScience Clinic; and TaNaisha Lee, an environmental scientist and health advocate, and founder/owner of TaNaisha Lee, Inc. All the speakers are experienced professionals in the fields of hair care, hair & scalp research, hair analysis, and health and wellness. The event is expected to draw women of all ages and backgrounds with a focus on women of color, age 40+, who are interested in the causes and treatments for common types of hair loss. “I would like women to walk away with a better understanding of proper hair care at home and in the salon; and what to do when the first sign of disturbance occurs with the hair and, or scalp”, says Marvelette Bailey. After the featured speakers’ presentations, and a panel discussion moderated by Demetria Hayden, the speakers will take questions from the attendees during a Q&A session. The Summit concludes with “Meet-up’s”, where attendees have the opportunity to have conversations with the experts in a smaller setting, and visit the vendor tables.
