MANCHESTER, CT — A Man wanted by Manchester police is in custody on several charges after being arrested in Ashford Monday, authorities said. At 12:30 p.m. Monday, Manchester police arrived at 149 Ashford Center Road in Ashford for the purposes of confirming the address of 30-year-old Kelly Nixon, for whom a warrant had been issued for third-degree robbery. Nixon was on the property, but when police arrived, he fled into the home, according to a report. Manchester police notified state police and, once troopers arrived at the residence, it was confirmed that Nixon was a suspect in several other robberies in Windham County, according to a report. Nixon was located in the attic of the apartment complex and was taken into custody without incident, sate police said. Nixon was charged in the Manchester case and was being held on a $250,000 bond, a report shows. He has also been charged by state police with second-degree criminal mischief, interfering and second-degree breach of peace. He posted a $5,000 bond for those charges and has a Nov. 9 court date, state police said. State police said further charges are pending for Nixon on other robberies that he is believed to have committed throughout Connecticut.
